Traditional Chasen - Bamboo Matcha Whisk
Q. Why do we need a Traditional Chasen or bamboo whisk for smoothing matcha lumps?
A. We can use any whisk ( Alminium, steel) or shaker to smooth matcha lumps. But they are not as effective as the chasen, may take longer. Finally, Matcha powder does not like metals (due to some reactions) and prefers wood, glass, and/or ceramics.
Traditional matcha bamboo whisk. This bamboo whisk needs to be held from the top so that you can apply pressure to smooth out the natural matcha lumps. Use it in an "M" shape to get a good blend.
